- The coach of the Spanish women’s team, Jorge Vilda, is set to be fired. This is following a controversy where the football federation’s president kissed a player. Vilda, who had recently faced disagreements with his players and led them to a World Cup win, is now involved in this ongoing issue.
- Mukesh Ambani‘s company got the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) media rights, to show the national cricket team’s matches on TV and online for $721.41 million. They took this from Walt Disney, who had these rights before. Viacom18, a joint venture owned by Ambani’s Reliance Industries, will now handle media rights for the cricket games from September 2023 to March 2028.
- Americans Noah Lyles and Sha’Carri Richardson proved they are the quickest runners this year by winning at a Weltklasse Diamond League event on Thursday.
